Recently the SAP Community team has successfully integrated social media into SCN, offering another route for communication between members.  How do we know we're succeeding? First, a key analyst recently recognized us for the success of our Facebook fanpage. Second, a new member complimented us on our social media integration, indicative of a trend.

Did you know how active our social media channels have become? If not, why not begin following us there? Here's some information that might encourage you to join our conversations on Twitter, Facebook, You Tube and elsewhere.

First, Facebook Kudos from a Respected Expert: Altimeter's Jeremiah Owyang ranks SAP among the top ten most successful companies using Facebook pages for marketing - AND - we are the highest ranking B2B company on his list. Our SCN fan page was a large factor in his evaluation of SAP. Read full report below.

Second, Members Pleasantly Surprised to Find Social Networking Integrated into SCN

We read an interesting SAP Inside Track made me do it... who was surprised to find how much we've integrated social media into our community. Derek became involved at SAP Inside Track Newtown Square, where he was embraced by our passionate community in ways he did not expect:

"...What really caught me off-guard was the total integration of social networking - I never realized that SAP had such a big embrace of social networking. By the end of the day I had:

  • New Twitter Followers and folks I followed
  • An invitation to Blog on SDN
  • A Flip video of me talking about my SDN experiences on YouTube

I think that this embrace of social networking is a great way for professionals to interact, problem solve and vent."

-Derek Loranca, Application Technical Specialist/Lead BI Developer, Aetna.

Thanks to Derek for allowing us to share your good experience with others.

Of course, the exchange of valuable technical content on the community webpages forums, blogs and wikis remains the primary reason members visit the community.  But don't miss out on the community-building taking place on SAP Community Network's interactive platforms - extensions that bring a new immediacy to member conversations.
