Last weekend, I traded my tennis racquet for a road bike and joined the SAP Cycling Team for the inaugural Cycling 4 Vets ride around the hills of Livermore, California. The team of riders was there as part of SAP's Month of Service, a global program for employees to take time out to volunteer on community projects.

The SAP team had colleagues from across campuses and product organizations, and I was happy to represent SAP Ariba. I started at the head of the group on the 30-mile route and rode a strong first section, inspired by a fellow rider on a mission to break a two-hour ride time. A light rain nourished us as we approached the rest stop on Cross Road at the nearly 20-mile mark.

For that second half, I rode at a slower pace, enjoying the scenery of wineries I have been to in previous years. After an invigorating ride, the riders got together to wind down and celebrate with music and food. I was happy to support this activity and pitch in with SAP's Month of Service,. Kudos to Diane Nguyen from the SAP Cycling Club for her time and effort coordinating the event.
