As a part of UA, about 70 students in Russia obtained SAP consultant certificates in 2011 alone. Altogether, 632 new certified SAP consultants were trained in Russia over the course of the year. University undergraduates are offered 10-day training courses. After completing the course, the students take a certification exam held by SAP or its authorized partner.“Working with universities is a great way to give young specialists the skills and qualifications needed by the market,” says Elena Maria Ordonez del Campo, senior vice president SAP Global of University Alliances. “We believe that as we develop our work with universities, we support our clients by creating a good market of qualified labor for them. We plan to develop industry programs together with universities for the financial and banking sectors.”

One of the main areas of cooperation with universities in CIS region is the development of new education formats. This year the ERP4Student e-learning program was launched, where courses are held twice a year. The majority of Russian universities that offer training in SAP solutions are located in big cities, predominantly in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Therefore extending the geography of cooperation with universities is another priority of SAP University Alliances. This will include Tatarstan universities, such as Kazan Federal University, Kazan Aviation Institute, Kama Engineering and Economy Academy, and universities in the Urals. For example, a SAP resources center will be opened in Yekaterinburg this year.
