The 6th session of Conventus 2014, The IMAC summit, was based on the Theme ‘SMAC: The way forward‘ at International Management Institute which is SAP University Alliances member school.. The session was graced by the presence of seven very eminent personalities from the field of Analytics and was attended by 110 and 15 faculties from IMI.
Professor Himanshu Joshi, the moderator of the session set the floor for the panel discussion by briefly introducing the theme. Mr. Monish Suri, a principal consultant to PwC, highlighted the importance of Big Data. He also spoke about real time data analytics and analytics driven probabilistic patterns. Mr. Gautam Arora, Head CRM Practice, SAP SDC took it forward with a discussion on customer focused view on Analytics and SMAC. He also explained the changing rules due to customer
choices and technology. Mr. Anuj Kumar, Director, Fractal Analytics, aptly quoted, ‘SMAC has already changed the game’. The ensuing discussion revealed the changing trends of data usage and analysis by companies to predict trends and consumption patterns to improve business. Mr. Sachin Gupta, Associate Director/Client Relationship Manager, Cognizant Technology Solutions, emphasized on the importance of the compatibility of enterprise applications with various
devices.
Mr. Sunil Surohi, Senior VP at NIIT, added valuable points regarding privacy concerns and security issues related to growing data. Mr.Amit Srivastava, Director, Credit Bust Out and Credit Abuse Prevention at American Express, further elaborated about Shared Content and the reduction of individual control over content. Mr.Amit Mathur, Associate Director at KPMG, put forward a new perspective about the usage of Analytics and also stressed on the issues related to the accessibility of internet in India which has been a major challenge towards growth of SMAC in India.
The session concluded with some very thoughtful questions posed by students on Data Privacy, future scope of SMAC and potential security concerns.
