I went to #SAPtd to get inspired by the latests techs, learn from talented people, experience stories from other developers, expand my network, and learn how to take my startup to the next level using the student developer edition of SAP HANA Cloud Platform.  My expectations, and those of my startup partner, were exceeded.

As a student (from the IT University of Copenhagen) I got access to hands-on learning on #IoT & HANA Cloud Platform with both peers && professionals, in an enthusiastic environment of developers, mentors, & fellow students in hack-a-thon, Viz-a-thon, CodeJams, robotics, and more than I could actually explore. Tuesday we had a Late night hack-a-thon with HANA Cloud Expert and my openSAP teachers Thomas Jung & Rui Nuigera, who guided us hack-a-thon-ers through a fascinating step-by-step demo of seamless utilization of multi-device assets from a web app on SAP HANA Cloud Platform. Developer heroes were everywhere. The only thing that could have made it better was if I was ready to ask more questions, because this event gave me plenty direct & open access to all the knowledge owners for my interests.

On the front row at DemoJam, I was mesmerized by the live brain wave analytics visualization in action connected to a customized augmented reality car shopping experience, but even more impressive was watching 5 genius students (from HPI) win & wow InnoJam & DemoJam with their live demo of a remote farming prototype developed in just 24 hours on BeagleBone, Android, and HANA.

During the next two days I got to experience the conference with these same winning students. I even got to join a live interview with one of the winning team members, Lars Butzmann, Msc. at Hasso-Plattner-Institu.... I also learned new tech && person skills using SAP Lumira in a Viz-a-Thon while teaming up other students who likewise had won contests were developing apps of their own. We accessed real data sets provided in collaboration with Doctors Without Borders and then presented our insights in competition with other teams in front of a judges panel.

I've experienced the unforgettable creative & explorative team intensity of InnoJams before, and have attended impressive conferences like SAP Innovation Forum, SAPPHIRE & the 'Web Summit' previously but this week at SAP TechEd && d-code brought a refreshing && unique brand of insights, thrills & new networks like no conference I've attended. The developer network within and around SAP was remarkably friendly and accommodating. I hope to not just collaborate but keep in touch with new friends I made. Any student who who wants to get inspired with who and how to take their ambitions, project, or startup to the next level, I recommend you find a way to get your spot at the next SAP TechEd && d-code.

I purposely collect and seek out new ideas and their sources, and I was overwhelmed with the opportunities I came in contact with. Not the least of which is the new European Space Agency (thanks Thorsten Rudolph, Daniel von Dungen, and Stephan Lange) App-a-thon series which takes off in five countries across Europe, the winners of which go to compete at the Mobile World Congress in Spain. Pre-Registration is still open at www.app-camp.eu - maybe I'll see you there.

Big Thanks to the awesome SAP University Alliances team & Ann Rosenberg, Craig Cmehil & all the students, startups, developers, pros, and experts I met --- what a fantastic week!

My friends & I got interviewed at the conference, so you can see a piece of the experience for yourself, and if you think I look tired -- it's because each day & night was packed && dreamers don't sleep through opportunities like this !!!
