On July 9, 2015 Academy Cube launched the official opening of a National Office at Birmingham City University’s Centre for Enterprise Systems in the UK and Ireland.
The Academy Cube’s UK National Office aims to develop the strategic alignment with the STEM agenda in the UK and Ireland to build the next generation of talent for industry, addressing the challenges of employability, skilling and apprenticeship opportunities.
Birmingham City University has invited to a day full of discussions, speeches and meetings. This is a short overview of the agenda:
- Round Table Discussion: Skills for Digital Economy
- Strategic Meeting With Probrand – Alignment of Skills platform with KnowledgeKube
- Meeting with Les Pyle – House of Lords – Government Standardization for Collaboration – ICW
- Speeches by: Cliff Allan, Vice-Chancellor Professor of BCU
Nuno Gurda, Head of Cisco Corporate affairs for UK and Ireland
Dr. Dietmar Kilian, Chairman of the Academy Cube Supervisory Board

Ann Rosenberg, Vice President and Head of Global SAP University Alliances spoke as both a keynote presenter and member of the panel on Skills for the Digital Economy. She shared that at SAP, we believe a key challenge and opportunity for our times is developing relevant skills for the digital transformation, and that University Alliances is working together with Academy Cube to bridge the STEM skills gap and create the talent pool to enable organizations to become successful digital enterprises
During the launch event, Ardavan Amini, Director of the Centre for Enterprise Systems at Birmingham City University, said: "This is a great opportunity for Birmingham City University to play a key role in addressing STEM skills shortages. As well as developing the skills of our own students, through the running of Academy Cube’s UK headquarters here in Birmingham, we’ll also be helping to equip future technologists and engineers from across the country with the appropriate skills they need for a long and successful career.”
