On Friday May 27, 2016 Frank Andera (Director of CMU`s SAP University Alliances Program), Steve Tracy (Associate Director of CMU’s SAP University Alliances Program), and Anil Kumar (CMU Entrepreneurship Chair) from Central Michigan University visited the Headquarters of SAP SE in Walldorf, Germany.

They are planning their University´s Study Abroad Program, which will take place in summer 2017. The purpose of their travel to Europe (Germany, Netherlands and Denmark) is to identify companies which they will be visiting together with their students and discuss activities for this Study Abroad trip.

The reason why they have chosen SAP SE as one part of their Study Abroad Program is that, as their membership in the SAP University Alliances Program already began in 1997, they will celebrate 20 years as a member in 2017. Their mission from the very beginning was to teach an understanding of integration and better management of business processes. One of CMU´s long-term goals of the SAP University Alliances Program is to continue to make it stronger and more relevant to their students by offering a wide range of SAP courses.

First of all, Andrea Tvarusko and I invited our guests to join the SAP Inspiration Pavilion, where they learned more about SAP`s history and Big Data. Afterwards we have shown our customer area in the 6th floor of Building 1. Our colleague Christian Heller from d-shop, the “Developer`s Workshop”, presented some hardware technologies like several generations of Arduino and Rasperry Pi as well as 3D-Printing and was telling more about virtual reality devices. After a tour through our campus, we all had lunch together.

Thank you very much for your visit at the Headquarters of SAP SE. We are very pleased to welcome you and your students again next year!
