On Wednesday July 27th, I participated in the ASUG Chicago Chapter meeting at Harper College.  This particular meeting featured a Digital Transformation track with many fine SAP expert speakers and was attended by many key SAP customers from the Midwest.  David Fowler from our Midwest region team was instrumental in helping to put together a great lineup.  This event served as part of our emerging and new Midwest Digital Innovation Community and we plan to host additional events in the coming months.  One in particular will be held at the University Alliance member University of Illinois Chicago on November 10th.

Here is a summary of the key SAP topics on the agenda yesterday:

Leading Digital Transformation: Why SAP’s Digital Framework is Essential to the Best Companies of Tomorrow

Jeff Woods showed how digital transformation will impact all aspects of business from the customer experience all the way through finance and procurement. From that perspective, he discussed how SAP’s Digital Core (S4) fits into a company’s strategy and why every company needs to get there now.

Servicing Your Customers Digital Needs

One of the key components of SAP’s Digital Framework is Digital Customer Engagement.  In this session we explored how an organization can deliver a contextual, personalized omnichannel shopping experience to Customers

Enabling and Developing A Best in Class Digital Workforce

With 4 Generations in the workforce and the need to drive digital talent development the Human factor of an organization’s digital framework is at the heart of its future.  This talk explored how to empower, engage, and develop talent – with human capital management (HCM) software from SAP SuccessFactors. Our cloud-based human resource management solutions support the needs of multi-generational, global, and contingent workforces.

Digitally Connecting Your Business Network to Run Live

Most successful companies manage their Digital Ecosystems as a natural extension of themselves. In this session we explored how integrating an organization to SAP’s Business Networks allows it to leverage cloud, mobile, and analytics technologies to boost productivity, ecosystem connectivity and create digital value across a broad set of business functions.

Connecting People, Places and Things Through the IoT

The Internet of Things (IoT) is everywhere. This session explored how SAP helps you Plug in – and use the IOT to create new products, services, and business models. We discussed how SAP’s IoT, machine to machine (M2M) technology, IoT platform and applications can help extend and enrich core business with data-driven intelligence inside the network and at the edge.

It was another great opportunity to share the Digital Transformation message and continue building our innovation community in the Midwest.  Special thanks to David Fowler for orchestrating the agenda and to the ASUG Chicago Chapter for hosting the meeting
