SAP ACADEMIC CONFERENCE ASIA PACIFIC JAPAN 2012

HONG KONG, CHINA

JULY 3 – 7, 2012

The 4th annual SAP Academic Conference in Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) 2012 was held from 3rd– 7th July 2012 in Hong Kong, China.

This year, the conference was a region-wide event themed “Innovation Starts Now”. This upcoming annual conference wass organised for members to learn more on how to innovate their use of SAP initiatives on campus. This was also an excellent opportunity for the professors and lecturers to learn and interact with faculties from other member schools and gain greater insights on SAP and the offerings by SAP University Alliances.

4 daysThis workshop focuses on data warehousing and analytics using SAP solutions. It features the modeling and population of a GBI InfoCube, and analytical solutions from SAP including the new BusinessObjects Analysis tool. Also included is predictive analysis using data mining of large datasets from the University of Arkansas.

ABAP Programming

3 daysThis workshop aims to prepare lecturers to teach an introductory course in SAP's programming language (ABAP). The focus is on interactive report and dialog (transaction) programming, together with a basic introduction to the ABAP-based Netweaver technology.

SAP ERP Configuration (GBI)

This workshop introduces participants to configuration in SAP ERP using the Global Bike, Inc (GBI) case.  The full curriculum will include all key processes available in GBI.  The workshop is limited to a subset of these key processes with a focus on teaching the concepts, principles, and techniques related to configuration as well as and hands-on exercises.

SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) 2 daysThis workshop introduces new curriculum using SAP CRM 7.0 and the Global Bike Inc. (GBI) company case. As starting point the participants get an overview on SAP CRM. Then the curriculum covers marketing, sales and gives a short overview on service, as well as integration to SAP ERP. Includes hands-on exercises.

Introduction to SAP ERP Using the ERP Simulation Game (Advanced Level)

2 daysThis workshop introduces business intelligence concepts using the ERP Simulation Logistics Game, a business game run on a real SAP ERP system. Students form teams and run companies in a simulated competitive market. They must manage the logistic chain of a dairy product distribution company. Participants work hands-on in SAP ERP to input operational decisions and monitor business performance. The use of a dashboard is introduced to support decision making.

This workshop aims to explain how the fundamental business processes interact with SAP ERP in the functional areas such as Sales and Distribution, Production Planning, Financial Accounting, and Human Capital Management.  Materials provided include an introduction to SAP, an SAP ERP navigation case study as well as  slides, exercises, and case studies for each of the below SAP ERP modules. Case study based on Global Bike, Inc (GBI).
