Travelling through all of Europe since May - The SAP Big Data Truck reached the University of Mannheim

On September 14 the SAP Big Data Big Data Tour stopped at the University of Mannheim. 45 Business Informatics master’s students from the University of Mannheim participated in Design Thinking and Lean Development sessions inside the truck. Tobias Hildenbrand, Development Project Expert and Associate Lecturer at the university, gave an overview on Big Data and introduced Co-Innovation to the students. Dr. Johannes Tulusan, Head of Big Data Business Development, Platform Solutions Group MEE and responsible for the truck tour, explained the most recent Big Data showcases, including the German Soccer team’s match insights and how Big Data influences future academic research.

SAP executives Michael Kleinemeier, Regional President MEE, Rolf Schuhmann, Head of Platform Solutions Group MEE, as well as Professor Dr. Ernst-Ludwig von Thadden, President of the University of Mannheim shared their thoughts and experience on Big Data in a discussion with the students.

In the afternoon, the event was opened to all students and visitors in the Ehrenhof to experience the truck and learn more about Big Data. Students in particular had the chance to speak with SAP Early Talent Acquisition and SAP University Alliances representatives to find out about career opportunities at SAP and cooperations with their university.

After all, over 100 people have visited the SAP Big Data Truck that Sunday. Next stops of the SAP Big Data Truck are already planned at further German universities: Hasso-Plattner-Institute Potsdam, KIT Karlsruhe, Technische Universität München, and the SAP TechEd && d-code Berlin.
