Winter Workshops 2016

SAP University Alliances Program (UAP) member schools across North America are invited to participate in four days of train-the-trainer oriented coursework that will introduce participants to SAP functionality as well as best practices for successful classroom use. Workshop content is developed and delivered by professors active in the program. The face-to-face workshop sessions are detailed below, with links that UAP member professors can use to access the workshop materials and participate in post-workshop online discussions with their instructors and fellow attendees.

Introduction to ERP

This introductory course is designed for schools new to the SAP University Alliances program as well as faculty from long time member schools that are new to using SAP curriculum in classes. It provides participants with a thorough grounding in the curriculum available through the SAP University Alliances community. From basic navigation to an overview of each of the major process areas of SAP ERP, this introductory course explains organizational structure and business processes within the SAP framework. This course uses GBI SCC 2.40 course material.None

Analytics Applications

Participants are introduced to SAP BusinessObjects and SAP Crystal analytic applications with a focus on hands-on exercises covering end user analytics. Participants are also introduced to SAP Netweaver Business Warehouse. The focus is hands-on exercises covering developer-focused analytics using the latest analytics tools from SAP. Workshop will also feature new curriculum using SAP Predictive Analytics (for data mining) as well as SAP Design Studio (for creating apps). Also included is predictive analysis using data mining of large datasets from the University of Arkansas.

In the course of this game, students have to run a business with a real-life ERP system (SAP). Groups of students each operate a firm in a make-to-stock manufacturing supply chain and must interact with suppliers and customers by sending and receiving orders, delivering their products and completing the whole cash-to-cash cycle. Using standard and custom reports of SAP ERP, students have to analyze these transactions and make business decisions to ensure the profitability of their operations. This workshop covers everything a professor needs to know to use the game in the classroom.None

HANA Native Application Development

Participants are introduced to SAP HANA, SAP's in-memory database for real-time analytics and applications, and SAP HANA Cloud Platform, SAP's Platform as a Service offering for developing and extending apps in the cloud.  The workshop introduces new curriculum for teaching HANA application development using SAP UI5, both on-premise and extending into the cloud.

Knowledge of SAP ERP is useful. Programming skills are recommended, particularly with JavaScript.
