Industry Business Semantic Standards are standards or specifications that are used to define business semantics for business content, such as messages and business objects that can be used across multiple industries. This becomes increasingly important as SAP becomes more and more standards-based in both our current products and our Enterprise Service Oriented Architecture.
Cross-industry standards reduce the burden of understanding the numerous vertical business standards. Cross-industry standards allow SAP to focus on single methodologies within Enterprise SOA which will dramatically reduce the total cost of ownership for our customers.
