Global Browsing: Content, People, Places, and Bookmarks

Introduction

Use the Browse menu for global browsing over all SCN. Here you can find

The Browse Content menu brings you all SCN content. This content includes blogs, documents, discussions, and polls.

Here is where you can check for the latest SCN content site-wide, covering all spaces.
Use tabs to filter for blogs, documents, discussion forums, or polls.
Find the latest SCN blogs by selecting Blog Posts and sorting by the latest activity.
Use text or tag filters to find interesting content.

In the left-hand area, you can filter for content that is related to you in important ways: content you’ve authored or commented on, content you’re following or recently viewed.
Jive Genius selects content for you based on your interests and previous activities.

The Browse People menu brings up all of the SCN members.

Use Sort to list members by first name, last name, date joined, or lifetime points
Clicking a member’s name takes you to their Bio area where you can find out more about them from their profile and their contributions to SCN such as blogs or documents.

From In the left-hand area, you can filter for the SCN members that you are following or that follow you.
Jive Genius suggests members that might interest you and that you should consider following.

The Browse Places menu lists all of the SCN Topic Spaces.

Use Sort to list spaces according to their Title, level of activity, or date of creation.
Clicking a space name takes you to the Overview page for that space, which is a good starting point for getting acquainted with that particular content and community. From there, you can find out more about who is active in the community and you can easily navigate to the community documents, blogs, and discussions.
From In the left-hand area, you can filter for SCN Topic Spaces that you have recently viewed or that you are following.
Jive Genius suggests SCN Topic Spaces that might interest you based on your profile and your activity.

The Browse Recent Bookmarks menu lists SCN Bookmarked content from you and other members.

You can view all SCN Member’s bookmarks or you can filter for bookmarks that are just your own.
Use Sort to list bookmarks by Title, level of activity, or date of creation.

You can also sort for the most popular bookmarks of the day, week, month, or year.
Clicking a space name takes you to the Overview page for that space, which is a good starting point for getting acquainted with that particular content and community. From there, you can find out more about who is active in the community and you can easily navigate to the community documents, blogs, and discussions.

The icons at the top of the browse screen let you to select how you view the results.

If you select the four squares, the display is a Tiled View. As shown here in the Browse Content page, you can view some introductory text in addition to the title of the content. This can help you more quickly and more accurately decide which content is relevant and interesting:

If you select the three horizontal lines, the Browse display is a List View and is more compact:
