Organisational key is used for setting up additional authorizations to HR administrators who maintain employee master data.  It is a 14 character word to be made up of the fields from IT0001 to be defaulted using VDSK1 feature in the same IT0001. The procedure for setting up Organisational key is as follows.

Menu Path: Spro--IMG---Personnel Management---Personnel Administration---Organisational data---organisational assignment--set up org.key.

1) Double click on Orgkey--creation rules and create a creation rule as follows: (T527A)

Here, the column length specifies the number of characters to be taken from that particular field. For example, I want my Org key to be created using creation rule 20 where the first 4 characters should come from my Personnel area field text, LAPL, from IT0001. Likewise, next 4 characters from Personnel SubArea...so on and so forth. The column offset is used to optimally use this 14 character space of ORG KEY. For eg, if my WERKS  is 0001, I can simply give '3' in offset column to remove those three '0' from left to right so that my Org key will read as '1..................' rather than '0001.........'

2) Now assign creation rule 20 to variable key in Org key: control view, if you want to default your orgkey using VDSk1 feature as follows: (T527)

In the Default/validation column, specify how you want your org.key to be defaulted using validation or without validation et.,...In the eg, 4  is given that is 'org key cannot be overwritten and without validation'. Now assign this variable key to VDSk1 feature as shown in the screen shot to your country grouping, company code, personnel area etc., as per your requirement.

Now, run hiring action to see the org key is defaulted.

Regards,
