Hi Everyone,

In this article I would like to provide you the information about how to use new SAP BO Reporting tool SAP Visual Intelligence with SAP HANA in Cloud share HANA Sand Box.

You will have Visual Intelligence icon on desktop, just double click on it.

Now you will get below screen, when you select ‘New Document’.

In the next screen, you will get ‘HANA Online Cube’ under New Data Source screen, select the same.

Now system gives you screen where you have enter HANA system

Provide the below details (You will get this from in-memory team)

HANA Server: hanasvr-10 (number varies from 01 to 10)

HANA Server Instance: 00 (Same for all)

User Name: p1024406 (Your registered SID/PID)

Password: *********

Then click on “Connect HANA Instance”.

Once the connection is successful, you will get all the available Analytic/Calculation views in right side as shown below

Select the required view and click (preview and select data option). Now click on ‘Connect’

In the next screen you will all the attributes and measures available in the selected view. By default all the objects will be selected, if you don’t want any objects for reporting then you can unselect here.

Note: We can search by giving name in sear bar also.

The below is the screen where we actually work on report format using the fields we have in source view (Analytic/Calculation view)

We have 4 main sections in the above figure.

Section1: In this pane we have all the attributes, measures and hierarchies which are available in the selected Analytic/Calculation View

Section2: From 1st pane we have to drag and drop the fields to this section to get the report in pane4.

Section4: Based on the fields we select from 1st pane we get the report here.

Section3: Using this option we can change the format of report (bar chart, pie chart, line chart, scattered chart, bubble chart). Bubble chart used in recent Olympic 2012 also.

Now I have taken EFASHION analytic view for this exercise.  In this scenario I want to analysis on Amount_sold, Quantity_Sold by Shop_ID.

So I added measures to Y-Axis and attributes to X-axis. Now the report looks like below

For measure you can also change the aggregations in measures section

The same report will look as below with bubble chart.

Note: If you are using bubble chart, then you should have min 3 measures, so i added ‘Margin’ also to the chart. We can add max of 4 measures in bubble chart.

Now we are doing this entire part in ‘Visualize’ screen. The other playing areas are ‘Data’ and ‘Split’.

You can see the images below.

“Data” Screen

“Split” Screen:

Once the preparation is done, we have save the chart by click on “Save” option in Report pane.

We can share the same analysis to others using “Email” option in “share” screen.

Hope this document helps to have quick start on SAP Visual Intelligence.

Happy Learning.
