Framed by an insight into SAP’s strategy and SAP’s business models around mobility, COIL presented the attending management consultants with an introduction to its hands-on approach for co-innovation.

The event was rounded of by a guided tour to SAP Research’s Future Retail Center displaying innovative approaches to retail scenarios. Have a look at the presented content.

 

 

http://scn.sap.com/servlet/JiveServlet/previewBody/31817-102-1-99313/ArchitectureBIMonster.jpg The SAP Co-Innovation Lab enabled a performance validation and scalability project of a large-scale deployment of the SAP® BusinessObjects™ Business Intelligence (BI) platform, release 4, capable of sustaining ten thousand plus concurrent users. The SAP BusinessObjects BI platform and database technologies were configured to run over a standard enterprise-ready open source operating system from Red Hat (RHEL 6), using enterprise data center–ready Intel® Xeon® processor-based hardware from Supermicro (TwinBlades and SuperServers) and an application delivery control system from F5. The results have been published in a white paper.

 

 

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/webcontent/mimes/coil/coil%20projects/COILProjects%202012%20BOE%20Experience%20Brasil.gif In cooperation with the Ecosystem & Channels and the OEM team in Brasil, the Co-Innovation Lab Brasil successfully executed the first phase of the initiative SAP Co-Innovation Lab Business Objects Experience 2012 with the goal to extend the knowledge and use of Business Objects (BO) among the local ecosystem through an OEM partnership.

 

COSS Consulting, Cybertécnica, DMSS, and Tropico joined the initiative late May 2012 and within two months delivered and showcased their prototypes to various teams within SAP. During the initiative all participants became official SAP partners through the OEM program.

In cooperation with SAP Switzerland, COIL placed anarticle on the topic of co-innovation in this special. The article takes the example of the newly founded SAP HANA Center of Excellence powered by COIL to explain how co-innovation can help a company to multiply its own innovative strength by leveraging the innovative potential of its business ecosystem. The council will include a cross-section of companies, including startups, hardware vendors, software providers and technology services organizations that will collaborate together with SAP on select projects in the SAP® Co-Innovation Lab. In cooperation with COIL and  hardware partners Cisco und NetApp the SAP HANA Center of Excellence Schweiz has set up a special lab. The new HANA Lab performs proof of concepts for projects around SAP's software appliance, but in addition develops customer-specific demo scenarios or executes development tasks. Starting mid of 2011, Vistex partnered with SAP and IBM in the SAP Co-Innovation Lab to develop a solution to provide real-time profitability analytics while reducing the overall impact on transactional processing and other business operations. Besides various other occasions the first solution PoC was showcased at SAPPHIRENOW EMEA 2011 in Madrid. Europe's prime IT fair Cebit opened its doors. This year, Brazil is the partner country of Cebit, therefore the inauguration had two female leaders opening the event: Dilma Rousseff, president of Brazil, and Angela Merkel, chancellor of Germany. In the Brazil focus section of the fair, SAP Brazil is present with a booth, featuring SAP Labs Latin America as well as the SAP Co-Innovation Lab (COIL) São Paulo, where a real co-innovation between the Brazilian partner SIGGA and SAP COIL São Paulo on SAP's latest mobility technologies is shown to the interested public.

Focussing on heavyweight mobile apps in wave1 of the program, the second wave now finished with a clear focus on delivering lightweight apps.

In this program, partners were invited to build high-impact mobile solutions on the latest SAP Mobility Platform in close collaboration with SAP and Sybase experts, who enabled and coached the project teams. Now, the first solution out of the Padma program made it to SAP EcoHub: Arteria's solution for mobile sales force automation.

The panel discusses a large scale BI 4 implementation co-innovation project examining the correlation between performance and energy efficiency. While still an active project, the panel offers viewers some insights into the project and the type of tacit knowledge being exchanged adding value to the overall quality of the project and the effort to obtain meaningful and useful results.
