This is part 2 from Sharing the Knowledge - SAP TechEd Get to Know the Real-Time Analytics Platform with SAP HANA Live

This exercise is towards the end of RDP 264 Real Time Analytics.  I appreciate that SAP TechEd never ends after October, I can continue to enjoy it with Virtual TechEd in January and February.

Before doing the Design Studio Exercise, I walked through the SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for OLAP exercise which was very similar to the Analysis Office exercise in Part 1.

First you connect the data source, which is the one I highlight below.

The end result looks as follows:

Next up was Design Studio.  The exercise calls for us to use Design Studio 1.1 but I see Design Studio 1.2 on the image and use that version anyway.

First I select the ERP on HANA connection:

The exercise is similar to the other Analysis exercises, except we have a Dimension Filter.

This is how it looks run-time.

I would say it was easy to connect from the BI tools to the HANA Live views.  What is missing (my opinion only) is the BEx Query.  Everything from the HANA Views came back aggregates only, with no dimensions/characteristics showing initially.

Lastly, SAP provides sample content, such as the below list for Crystal Reports:

I have a few more virtual TechEd courses to take and hope to share my notes.

Special thanks to matthias.sessler for his help in resolving technical issues.
