Tip: Searching Employees

Hi,

Many SAP HCM users are not familiar with the following method of searching for employees.

When you use transaction PA20 or PA30, you can access an employee directly without the need to search him/her by <F4> functionality.

In order to do so, enter the following in the Personnel Number field:

=N.<Last Name>.<First Name>

Why N?

Because that's the abbreviation for the Last name - First name sub-search help within PREM:

Here are several examples:

a. If you enter the following:

    

     - you will receive the following results:

    

b. If you enter the following:

    

     - you will receive all employees whom first name begins with A.
