In general ATP check for planned order, PR, Sub contract PO/Schedule line the components quantity will be confirmed based on partial confirmation logic.

System determines the component with lowest available quantity to determine the ATP quantity of other components.

But still we can enjoy the full confirmation logic similar to production order by making customization and master data setting.

Here example narrates partial confirmation ATP logic.

Consider below BOM structure ,

Base quantity of FG1010 is 1 No.

Stock situation of components are,

Creating Planned order,

When we perform availability check in MDVP,

Here even though RM002 and RM003 is available 8 qty system commits only 4 qty each because  available qty of RM001  is 2 nos.

So system display all component as missing parts.

To activate the full confirmation logic for planned orders as similar to production order, we need do below  customization and   setting in master data.

Here the step

Step 1 :  Create MRP group and activate 'Full Confirmation logic ' in OPPJ

Step 2

Assign this MRP group to BOM header part(in this example FG1010)

Now check the Availability check in MDVP

Here system  calculate committed quantity based on full Confirmation logic.
