PRINT is an useful Operation for understanding what the payroll is calculating doing line by line

PRINT - Print Out the Current Work Table Entry(Courtesy-SAP Documentation)

The operation does not change the values for the wage types and variables(Courtesy-SAP Documentation)

we will understand the use of the PRINT Operation with the help of an example

for the purpose of understanding, we are only limiting this to X013 Rule.

Assumption is ,we know its best practise to copy standard and rename it.

Before

PE02 TCD=X013 PCR

Table IT has /001 as 30000

double click processing and on a  particular wagetype- double click on /001

we cannot see the output of each line

we can see the result in OT by clicking on OT

This is where the use of PRINT Operation comes handy

Same rule after adding PRINT Operation

we run the payroll and go to log

IT has /001 as 30000

expand processing and Double click on /001

Now we can see the calculation after each line don’t we?

RTE=TSDIVP  .ie. 195.50

DIVID ARR ie. 30000/195.50=153.45

ADDWT=153.45

TIP: PRINT there is Operation and Function .So how do we /system know its Function or Operation is like below

PE04 TCD

When we click Display we can see PRINT prefixed by OP which means its operation and if prefix with FU then its function

I Hope this helps understanding the purpose of PRINT Operation and trust me it’s extremely useful PAYROLL OPERATION.
