OverviewBackendApp ConfigurationAndroidiOS

You might be familiar with the Sybase Control Center (SCC), which is a single comprehensive Web administration console to configure and manage Sybase products and their components in SUP. Similarly SMP 3.0 provides the SAP Management Cockpit where you can manage and and monitor native, hybrid, and Agentry mobile applications.

You can log into the SAP Mobile Platform 3.0 management cockpit through this URL: https://<smp host>:<smp port>/Admin/

The Management Cockpit home screen allows the administrator to view and monitor the statistics of all configured applications. It displays the number of applications, users, and registrations. It provides quick links to relevant administration tasks

In the SMP management cockpit you can create application configurations. The application configuration or application definition must include a unique application identifier, connections to the back-end data source, and security profile settings.

In order to create an application configuration for the EPM Sales service, select Applications, and click New

Enter the following information

The backend tab defines the back-end connection for the selected application. A back-end connection is a connection to the data source, or enterprise information system (EIS). The EndPoint URL will point to the SAP Gateway service created in the previous step.

Assign a security profile to the selected application. The security profile defines parameters that control how the server authenticates the user during onboarding, and request-response interactions with the back end

For simplicity purposes we have created a HTP/HTTPS Authentication provider, pointing to the same backend endpoint URL.

Save your changes and test your application configuration with the Ping button in the Applications tab
