Often there is a need for Functional Consultants to create Multiple Transport requests for a Particular Business Process. These Transport requests could be Workbench Request or Customising Transport request.

It would be a wise Idea if we can Merge all the Multiple Transport request i.e Workbench and Customising created for a particular Business Process into a Single Transport request. This helps in segregating our Multiple Transport requests into a Few Transport Requests which becomes easier to handle. This also eliminates Transportation issues related to dependent transport requests.

Here, I am going to demonstrate Merging Multiple Customising Transport requests into One Transport request and then Merging this Customising Transport Request to a Workbench Transport Request to create a single Workbench Transport request.

Lets Move...

In transaction SE10, I am going to fetch all my modifiable Customising and Workbench Requests

As seen, for one of my Business Process, I have created three Customising and one Workbench Request.

These four Request belong to a particular subcontracting Process, so I would like to Merge these four transport Requests into a Single Transport request.

To Merge the Transport request, Select the Transport request and Go to Utilities--->Reorganise--->Merge Requests.

With the above Option you can Merge Only One Customising Request to another Customising Request or One Workbench Request to another Workbench request but you cannot merge a Customising Request to a Workbench Request.

There is a different way of merging a Customising Request to a Workbench request which is explained in later part of the document.

On Clicking the Merge Request Option, you will get a below Popup in which i will give the Transport Request which needs to be merged with the Other Transport Request

As seen below Customising Transport Reequest: EDVK910802 is no  more reflecting. The Task assigned to this Request has now been assigned to Request EDVK910804 and then the Customising request EDVK910802 has been deleted.

As can be seen below, the Task assigned to Request EDVK910802 has now been assigned to Request EDVK910804.

Next we will merge Request EDVK910804 with Request EDVK910806 using the same steps we did earlier

As can  be seen below we now only have one Customising request: EDVK910806 with three Customising tasks

Now, We will Merge/Append  Customising Request EDVK910806 to the Workbench request EDVK910800.

To acheive this Go to Utilities--->Reorganize--->Customizing Request--->Append to Workbench Request

You will get a Popup message, wherein you need to give in the Customizing Request that needs to be appended to the Workbench request.

Once done you will get below message

You can now see in Transaction SE09 or SE10  below One Modifiable Workbench Request only and no Customizing request

On expanding the Task List of the Workbench request EDVK910800, it now has Customising Request EDVK910806 with all its task and Workbench Task EDVK910801

Once the above Mergers are don , I will change the Description of my Workbench Request to same meaningful one that represents my Business Process for which the requests were created.

Note: Incase there is a need to remove the Customizing Request from the Workbench Request follow the below menupath

Go to Utilities--->Reorganize--->Customizing Request--->Split from Workbench Request

On splitting you will get below display and message
