Bit about Simple Finance:

Using SAP Simple Finance, you can revolutionize your financial management, by making best out of the power of SAP HANA. For making use of all the capabilities provided by SAP HANA like ‘IN MEMORY’ approach, changes (innovations) are carried out in FICO module which is now known as ‘Simple Finance’. Designing of Simple finance is carried out using SAP Fiori user experience.

Let’s have a look at deployment options:

Organizations are having various options for deploying SAP Simple Finance. The options are listed below:

  1. On Premise
  2. On Cloud
  3. Hybrid

It depends on what your business wants. May be entire ERP on premise, in the cloud, or hybrid deployments, SAP Simple Finance has the flexibility to fit any situation.

1. On Premise:

On-premise solutions are installed locally on company's hardware and servers. On-premise deployment usually requires on-going investments to manage and purchase the software as well as hardware. Company also have to invest more time and money on employees and their trainings. Company is having full control over the system and its implementation, including functional configuration and the ability to make modifications.

Company must have to use SAP HANA to take best out of the new functional capabilities of SAP Simple Finance, such as SAP Accounting powered by SAP HANA and SAP Cash Management powered by SAP HANA, which were natively built on SAP HANA.

2. Cloud

SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud is used by companies who want to deploy SAP Simple Finance on cloud edition. This is managed service where SAP maintains the servers and the software of an organization’s implementation. The dedicated server is allocated to single customer for installation of software, each customer is allowed to do unique functional business process configurations; however, modifications are not allowed. Cloud ERP provides better performance as compare to On-Premise ERP solutions. It is designed in such a way to give maximum network performance, which increases application availability. As the customers are assigned their own hardware servers, they still manage the applications and governance rules, and have the ability to be on a different release than other customers. Cloud ERP solutions are continually upgraded by SAP. SAP also takes care of implementing technical maintenance and handling hot fixes. So you can be sure that you’re always using the latest and most advanced version.

For using the Cloud ERP, Companies need to license the software capabilities, and then purchase the infrastructure and application management on a subscription basis. These systems on cloud ERP runs on SAP HANA, by using which the organizations get ability to use the latest innovations of SAP Simple Finance.

3. Hybrid

Hybrid ERP model is combination of On-premise ERP and cloud ERP implementation. This model can be used on such process which don’t need integration with SAP Business suite and can be easily taken away from SAP business suite.  The best example of this scenario is -  Ariba Network for invoice management, or solutions for cloud-based travel and expense management.

Large companies which are using On-premise implementation may choose to run specific functions of organizations such as remote sales offices, subsidiaries, or recent mergers and acquisitions, Organization can use the cloud with an integration with their On-premise systems for consolidated reporting and disclosures.
