This is part 2 of the webcast covering Design Studio Templates.  Still there is no coding required.

Part 1 is here: Design Studio Templates Webcast Part 1 - No Coding Required

Figure 1: Source: SAP

Please note this template is only for BW/HANA data sources as shown in Figure 1

It has a Lumira look and feel

You add the data source on the fly

It has an online BW connection

You can create application without IT

Figure 2: Source: SAP

Figure 2 shows the steps. Please note that you don’t assign a data source until run time.

Figure 3: Source: SAP

Figure 3 covers the options of recently used queries or selecting a system for a new data source after executing the application.  My experience doing this locally - you may have a hidden pop-up on the logon for a local connection.

Figure 4: Source: SAP

Figure 4 shows how Lumira like the application looks, after you assign the data source.  You have the chart types across the top, the context menu, the visualization gallery.  This is the “Visualize” room.

Please note and make use of the pause refresh button when moving the measures or dimensions – as this is an online connection.  Otherwise (based on my experience) it seems slow.

Figure 5: Source: SAP

Figure 5 is the Compose room, similar to Lumira, but a little different with how you share the stories.  You share the story using the Design Studio Bookmark functionality or exporting to PDF.

Figure 6: Source: SAP

My notes are incomplete here; I haven’t tested this myself with multiple users.  Figure 6 shows that each individual user on the BI platform will only see the initial version of the application when executing the template.

Figure 7: Source: SAP

Figure 7 shows that each action with the template creates a portable bookmark and how you can see them in the CMC.
