Crystal Reports Enterprise 4.2 release supports the new feature Vertical Alignment ie this feature allows a user to decide where along the vertical axis their text lies within a cell.

The feature is available in following ways:

Through Toolbar:

  It should be available as an option in the current toolbar of CR4E. Three additional buttons should be available for:

  • Top align - Align text to the top margin of the cell
  • Middle align - Place text so that it appears centered between the top and bottom of a cell
  • Bottom align - Place text aligned to the bottom of the cell

Through Right click option:

  Vertical Alignment is supported via right click context menu. When the user right-clicks on a cell and selects "Format Formula Element" option. A new drop down "Vertical Alignment” under ‘Font’ section will be available with following options:

  • Top
  • Middle
  • Bottom

Should be available.

Through Formula Editor:

  The formula editor also provides functions similar to Horizontal Alignment.  Below are functions available in formula editor:

“Vertical Alignment Constants”->

  • crTopAligned
  • crMiddleAligned
  • crBottomAligned
  • crDefaultVerAligned
