Hi All

This Document shares few facts and information related to "Uniqueness Profiling" in  SAP BOIS.

Uniqueness Profiling is a process that determines whether the exact piece of data is repeated within the same column or differing columns. It measures the

degree of uniqueness of one or more columns of a table.

Overview:- Following image shows how the uniqueness profiling looks after being applied across the columns(its highlighted using the Green Color tick marks)

Glimpse of the Data used:-

The Data consists of the customer details.their firm names and websites:-

Steps to Unique Profiling:-

1)Locating Unique Profiling:-

Select the respective tables to be profiled and choose "Uniqueness":-

2)The Unique Profiling Window:-

After selecting the Uniqueness, the following window will appear ,enter the name of the profiling and select the respective columns:-

3) The Results:-

The Output consists of 100% uniqueness and mixture of unique and non unique results:-

a) Uniqueness:-

We can gain a deeper insight just by hovering and clicking the mouse across the circles highlighted:-

b) Combination of Uniqueness and Non Uniqueness Profiling:-

Note:-

1) In the first run , the columns like :-Address, City, Combined_Names,Company_Name, Country were selected among the list of complete set of columns. That yielded cent percent uniqueness. In that case, the combination of the records and its repetition are checked across the entire table. to be more specific:-

Mr.James ButtBenton, John B Jr6649 N Blue Gum StNew OrleansOrleans

This row of data, should have an identical presence at multiple places in the table, then only presence of duplicate records are counted.Else the results are unique.

  2) The "Duplicate Count" appears only if the the selected combination of column fields are repeated across the table.

The Number Of Runs of the Profiling:-

All the profiling could be run multiple times. We can choose different columns at each time of run of the profiling. Different runs of the same profiling will be displayed as highlighted.
