SAP NetWeaver 2004

SAP NetWeaver 2004 was the first release of SAP NetWeaver, unifying the wealth of previously separate integration technologies of SAP into an overall synchronized and integrated technology platform. With this release, customers for the first time could also benefit from an integrated set of documentation, and common shipment and support package stacks.

SAP NetWeaver 2004 was released to customers on March 31, 2004.

What‘s new in SAP NetWeaver 2004

The technology platform SAP NetWeaver 2004 provides functionality to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) of applications. The Software Lifecycle Manager (SLM) and the SAP NetWeaver Administrator (NWA) are the most prominent examples.

With the Software Lifecycle Manager you can plan upgrades and design technical system landscapes. SLM is fully integrated with the System Landscape Directory (SLD) the central point of information about system details and design. The SAP NetWeaver Administrator (NWA) unifies the most important administration and monitoring tools both for Java and for ABAP systems in a new, browser-based user interface.

Release Notes

A release note is a brief explanation of new features or changes to the system since the last software release. A release note typically describes a new function or an existing function that has been enhanced or changed.  It may, however, also describe a function that has been deleted or describe user interface changes, terminology changes, or changes to the structure of the Implementation Guide (IMG).
