SAP Integration Scenario
Certification for this integration scenario with the most recent version of SAP solutions is phased out and certifications are covered by SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) – Integration Scenario – ABAP Add-Ons. Please contact SAP PartnerEdge for more information.
Business Content is a pre-configured set of role- and task-relevant information models based on consistent metadata in the SAP Business Information Warehouse. Business Content provides selected roles within a company with the information they need to carry out their tasks.
This information model includes integral roles, workbooks, queries, InfoSources, InfoCubes, ODS objects, key figures, characteristics, update rules, and extractors for SAP R/3, mySAP.com Business Applications, and for other selection applications.
Business Content can:
be used in particular industries without being modified
be modified, meaning you can work with it to any degree of detail
serve as a template or an example for customer-defined Business Content.
Moreover, Demo Content, which includes example data and can be used as display material, is available to you with the SAP Business Information Warehouse. The Business Content must be delivered using the SAP Add-on Assembly Kit (AAK). This is an important step that ensures a smooth implementation on a customer's production system.
Applying for Custom Namespaces
Starting with SAP R/3 4.0, vendors need to apply for custom namespaces from SAP via SAP Service Marketplace. These namespaces are SAP-exclusive identifiers that enable SAP, SAP customers, and vendors and partners to develop components and products without the risk of naming collisions.
All custom ABAP objects, database tables, fields, and data elements must exist within the proper namespace.
