Performance-Based Logistics (PBL) or Performance Based Outcome (PBO) contracts allow a customer to pay for performance rather than transactional goods and services. This method of contracting, utilized for years in many aspects of production equipment, facilities, and business services is now becoming more and more prevalent in the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) Industry as the Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial airline industry try to decrease lifecycle costs while improving end-customer satisfaction.
