SAP Mobile Platform Example Projects

Mobile Business Object: REST Demo Project (2.2)

This mobile application project is developed for Sybase Unwired Platform 2.2, and illustrates Sybase Unwired Platform Features including:

  • Input mapping and composite operations -- EIS operation arguments mapped to MBOs contained in the composite MBO graphs allows create, delete, or update of child nodes through the root MBO.
  • Output mapping, Entity Read operations, operation cache policies and options, shared-read operations -- MBOs bound to a REST Web service that are configured to update the Unwired Server cache for a composite object graph (MBOs in a composite relationship).

Mobile Business Object: Entity Read Project (2.1.3)

This mobile application project is developed for Sybase Unwired Platform 2.1 SP03, and illustrates an MBO data model configured to update the Unwired Server cache for a composite object graph after an Update or Create operation executes.

SAP Mobile Platform White Papers

SAP Mobile Platform Architecture

This document is for service providers and enterprises that plan to deploy the SAP® Mobilt Platform and need a functional understanding of the technology to assist in making informed decisions about choosing the correct mobile technology to use for a particular use case. It includes some level of detail about the internal workings of the platform that may prove useful to administrators.

SAP Mobile Platform Sizing Guide

This document is designed for service providers and enterprises that plan to deploy SAP Mobile Platform and need to understand the different technology options and sizing considerations. Making these assessments and decisions early in the process is essential in ensuring a successful project rollout.

SAP Mobile Platform Performance Guide

This is a companion document to the SAP Mobile Server sizing paper. The purpose of the sizing document is to provide a high level estimation of server processing power termed in SAPS based on a single reference scenario with a fixed data model. Sizing provides the relationship between the fixed data model and processing power but does not provide any hints as to behavior beyond the SAPS values. This document attempts to provide some adjacent data points and examples of their usage in the context of sizing.

Sybase Unwired Platform 2.1 ESD #2: Architecture

This document is for service providers and enterprises that plan to deploy the Sybase® Unwired Platform (SUP) and need a functional understanding of the technology to assist in making informed decisions about choosing the correct mobile technology to use for a particular use case. It includes some level of detail about the internal workings of the platform that may prove useful to administrators.

Sybase Unwired Platform 2.1 ESD #2: Sizing Guide

This document is designed for service providers and enterprises that plan to deploy Sybase® Unwired Platform (SUP) and need to understand the different technology options and sizing considerations. Prior to deploying SUP, you will need to make several technology decisions based on the requirements of your mobile applications.

Sybase Unwired Platform 2.1. ESD #2: Performance
This is a companion document to the Sybase Unwired Platform Sizing whitepaper.

Sybase Unwired Platform 2.1 ESD #2: Backup and Recovery

This white paper describes the backup strategy for Sybase Unwired Platform (SUP) installation, and recovery following a failure. The recommended strategy attempts to minimize the impact after a failure; however, it is inevitable that the recovery effort is proportionate to the severity of the failure.

Sybase Unwired Platform 2.1.x Development Paradigm White Paper

Sybase Unwired Platform is a flexible, open infrastructure that helps companies create, secure, and manage mobile applications that connect back-end datasources to mobile devices. This mobile enterprise application platform enables you to respond strategically as your device type and datasource needs evolve, whether because of corporate acquisitions, or system or technology upgrades.

Sybase Unwired Platform 2.1: Architecture

Individuals and businesses develop mobile applications for specific user needs ranging from teams of service workers who use ruggedized devices for industry-specific applications, consultants who track time and expenses on a mobile device, or simple corporate approvals. Sybase Unwired Platform supports these mobile scenarios as well as cross-industry applications, such as customer relationship management, human resources, supply chain management, business intelligence, product life cycle management, and industry-specific applications tailored for the service provider, chemical/pharmaceutical, and utilities industries.

Sybase Unwired Platform 2.1: Sizing Guide (OData, Mobile Workflow, Hybrid Web Container, Native Object API)

This document is designed for service providers and enterprises that plan to deploy Sybase Unwired Platform (SUP) and need to understand the different technology options and sizing considerations. Prior to deploying SUP, you will need to make several technology decisions based on the requirements of your mobile applications.

Sybase Unwired Platform 2.1: Mobile Business Objects Best Practices

MBO data is consumed by the mobile application and has a direct impact on its performance. The mobile application operates around the MBO data model, and an inappropriate MBO data model impacts not only mobile application development and maintenance, but synchronization performance and reliability.
