SAP Integration Scenario
BC-AL connects content management systems to SAP. It is a cross-application interface that provides SAP applications with archive functionality.
This interface is based on HTTP and a SAP NetWeaver BAPI interface
This Integration Scenario is also available with SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA
The SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) highly recommends that ISVs and partners, who are interested in certifying an integration of their product with SAP solutions, begin with our page Getting Started with Integration and Certification on that explains the SAP ICC services and describes the process how to obtain them. This page helps you select the correct integration scenario and contains technical information, streaming media presentations, step-by-step guides, and much more.
SAP NetWeaver on SAP HANA
The technology platform of the interface has changed; the scope of certification has not been changed. Recertification is optional, but advised
SAP NetWeaver 7.00 onwards
BC-AL remains unchanged. AL-LOAD was introduced as an optional load test sequence in combination with BC-AL or BC-HCS. Thus, BC-AL plus AL-LOAD can be applied for as a bundle. BC-AL standalone is certified as it is.
In addition to the BC-AL 6.20 intergration scenario a new release level 6.40 for the integration scenario BC-AL certification has been introduced. This new release supports the most recent SAP Content Server HTTP interface version 4.7 and utilizes the extended security features of the SAP NetWeaver Application Server like scanning documents for active content.
The new release BC-AL 6.40 does not replace the previous integration scenario 6.20. We will continue to offer the integration scenario release BC-AL 6.20 in parallel to the new release. The previous versions of the SAP HTTP Content Server interface 4.5 and 4.6 are still supported and we expect many SAP customers to stay with these versions.
