Languages for Defining Business Semantics

Languages for Defining Business Semantics
Since enterprise SOA adds business semantics to SOA, it requires common business languages that can be understood by all parties involved in the design, provisioning, composition, and consumption of enterprise services.

These languages can be used to create formal, machine-processable definitions of the information, processes, and services used by business. As such, they provide the "bridge" that that allows technology and business semantics to evolve independently of one another. They also allow expression of the business contract behind enterprise services in a manner that is complete and technology-independent. A rigorous specification of a contract provides the business integrity necessary for integrating applications and developing composite applications. Languages for defining business semantics include those for Process Definition, Service Definition, and Message Definition.
