We are encountering below said issue when we hit the drop down for "Technical Object" in Create notification transaction via enterprise portal.
"Message E ESH_SEARCH 014 cannot be processed in plugin mode HTTP"
Any suggestions to solve this problem is highly appreciated.

1. Login to Portal
2. Click Create Notification (IW21)
3. Select notification type - M2
4. Click Start button
5. Enter notificaton description, priority, dates
6. Take a drop down in "Technical object" field (This is a search help drop down to select equipment/functional location master records)
7. Results in Error "Message E ESH_SEARCH 014 cannot be processed in plugin mode HTTP"

I am having exactly the same problem too. I have an assumption it is to do with Enterprise Search (ESH).

This issue does not look as an Enterprise Workspaces issue. I suggest to report this issue in the generic portal forum or Enterprise Search forum.
Alternatively, open an OSS message.
