My environment is BOE Server and client 4.0 JCO connection to 7.01.08 BW server. Business Objects patch level 2.11.
I have created a custom Hierarchy using the custom navigation path in the business layer of my relational universe. two of the dimensions I am using (Week and Month) are derived using functions of a date dimension. i.e. Month(date_field) and Week(date_field) Every time I try to use drill down in a WEBi report on this navigation path it errors out with the following:
Database Error: [Data Federator Driver] [Server] The optimizer failed to produce an executable plan. Internal Message: 'Query cannot be optimized: Optimizer Exception'' (IES 10901) (WIS 10901).
If I remove the two dimensions my drill down works fine. Is this a known issue or expected behavior? Are calculated levels of a custom hierarchy not allowed?
I appreciate your help with this.
This is a really good question, and not one I have seen before.
This Multi Source technology is actually Data Federator stuff from XI3.1 DF, and their EIM forum is here: Data Services and Data Quality
However, that audience wouldn't know about overlaying a Universe ..
Have you gone via a Support Message? This would certainly be a good 'request for information' from product teams.
Can these calculated/derived objects actually be used 'as is' on their own? (without being in the custom hierarchy)
