What I need, exactly, are the old forum threads which I had in the SDN so far.
In the Quick Guide you mentioned, there is a topic with title "Where Did My Old Forums Go?", however it leads nowhere but the so called "New SCN", where again, I can't find my old threads.
I am sorry to say so, but I believe that Dennis Olson is quite correct in his statements.

you can find your old content in under the Content tab in your user profile.
URL: http://scn.sap.com/people/fabio.bellocchio/content
We also have a central search where you can filter by forum content and author.
Please notice the dummy query as the first parameter in the URL. But is is much easier to just use the search UI.

Bottom line: SAP doesn't give a damn. Their "development team" came up with this new interface abortion, and they're going to shove it down our throats. I think the reason is that fundamentally, SAP doesn't want to support their products unless you pay $100,000 a year to them.
As much as I need the support these forums offer, they are no longer usable to me. If anyone knows of an alternative forum, I'd love to hear it.

While I will agree that there were some missteps during the rollout, things that could have been done better, the new SCN is still as valuable a resource as the old version. It is becoming more valuable as time goes on and new ways of getting to the data are discovered. Please see my post with the google search page that Jason Lax put together. It is even better than any of the ways to search in the old world.
There are still bugs, issues, missing features to resolve, but progress is being made. The experience shared in the discussions (formerly the Forums) is still available and still a powerful tool.

following on this discussion, for example, WHY I can't find any results when searching with 'http proxy' tag?? (Browse - Content - All content - Filter by tag)
I'm sure it is something very obvious, but it is not intuitive to find the answer.
It's not possible that there is nothing in the database with 'http proxy'. What is different in the searching mechanism, and what should I input to get any result??

You are absolutely correct that the Browse - Content is not presently activiated and unfortunately had previously been turned off for performance reasons (much to our own dismay). I've spoken to the solution team about when it will become available again and was told that they should soon be reactivating it. This would reinstate our ability to Browse the content by type, by filter.
In the interim there is what we call the TREX search which can be used and accessed using the search box at the top right corner of the page. You can then narrow the search by asset type (say forum threads). For example: I put in "http proxy" and it generated this result:
http://search.sap.com/ui/#query=%27http+proxy%27&startindex=1&filter=scm_a_site%28scm_v_Site11%29
I further narrowed the search to look only at forum threads after January, 1, 2012.
You can further filter/search by rating, relevance, post date.
Please give this search method a try while the SCN folks get their searching issues resolved.

I don't know,. I tried that customised search, and while it certainly brings out lots of information from various sap sources such as SCN, Help.sap.com etc, I don't find it particularly useful to search out information from SCN forums in particular. I tried several key words, after scrolling down half a page of advertised links, 90% of the results are from help.sap.com, and 1 or 2 from SCN wiki and blogs.
I am sure it is useful as a resource, so I am going to bookmark it, but in my opinion it does not answer the question raised by Fabio.

Oliver answered Fabio's question above. When logged on, you can find your content by going to scn.sap.com/content and selecting Authored from the filters in the left page column. See also Everything I know about... SCN Quick Links and Browsing Tips

Thanks Jason, I have indeed missed that.
In my defence, the first half of the screen was totally taken up by sponsored ads, and so I immediately scrolled down to see the actual results.
However, I do realise that is a google issue and not an scn issue.
Well, someone has to pay the bills...

and the more I look at the lame excuses and workarounds below, the more it annoys me.
I'd fire ALL that worked on this... starting with those that decided this was necessary in the first place.
This is a prime example of how one should NOT let the "newbies" implement something.
