If it helps, when I need to antecipate a deployment (release), I set it back to draft version, and change the date/time (valid from-date, valid from-time) of release (about 2,3 minutes after). Then, I release again and just have to wait 2,3 minutes to became the active one.

As far as I know, the standard way to control the status to be set to Deployed is to set another version to Active, where the previously Active schema then becomes Deployed. As Garcia said, you can control this by releasing a Draft schema version. I'm not aware of any other report to handle this.
