Sure you could, but you'll need to do some customizing in the Java code, we did it some time back. It's tricky.

Hi Shikha,
I think, on the shopadmin/init.do, select the shop for which you want to enable order templates and on the transaction tab, you'll find a check box to enable order template.
Once you check it and restart your app, order template should work.

I am not sure which version you are on. I checked in both Webchannel and ISA for R/3 on version 7.
I can see order template area under transaction tab for standard BOB shop.
can you specify the version you are on?

Also in the meanwhile, can you check in XCM which type of basket has been setup and check if usedatabaseTemplate parameter is set as true.
