Hi all,
I have one query. We enter the PIR in MD61 for the full year. When you run the MRP for the main product, the PR will get generated for raw materials based on the PIR created for the one year. Now my question is Can we restrict the PR creation for the raw materials for the first 60 days only. That means eventhough the PIR is there in the system for the whole year, MRP run should not create any PR for the PIR beyond 60 days. Is it possible? Please advice.
Thanks

Hello,
You can use function "Planning Horizon" @ MRP Group level. Coz if you define it @ Plant level then it will be applicable to all.
Try & revert if any issue.

Dear Brijesh,
Is your requirement that the system should consider only the requirements in the first 60 days for the main
product and the procurement proposals should be created only for this period? If so means define the
correct planning horizon in OPPQ for the plant and run MRP always using the processing key as NETPL.
If your requirement is that the system can consider the PIR's throughout the period and assuming you run
MRP using the processing key as NETCH,then in this case define the planning horizon properly in a MRP
group and assign this MRP group only for the components and check the impact.

Hi Mangal,
I tried by changing the MRP group to 10 days and assigned to the raw material. But after the MRP run, the Planned Orders are getting created for all the raw material dependant requirements which are above 10 days. I am running the MRP for the main product. The raw material is in BOM. I have not assigned the specific MRP group for the main product. Please advice. thanks.

Dear Mangal
I tried again. I have specified 60 days in the Planning Horizon for MRP group. So it means the system should consider the no of days for the Planning Horizon from the current date. Today's date is 06/04/2012. There is a Dependant requirement for raw material on 29/06/2012. The MRP run should not consider the dependant requirement lying on 29/06/2012 as it is beyond 60 days. But it is considering this and generating Planned Order for the dependant requirement lying on 29/06/2012. please advice

Hi all,
Could anyone give any feedback for my query?

Brijesh
Hi Brijesh,
As Mr.Mangal mentioned, if you give th planning horizon for 60 days, it will consider the dependent the requirements for 60 ddays only and doesnot consider the dependent requirements after that date.

Dear,
I would like to understand whether the Planning Horizon days specified in the customization is actually considering the days from the current date onwards on which MRP is run?. Is it like Current date + 60 days= Planning Horizon? If so, what are the PIR's available before the current date? Please advice

Hi,
Please check following way.
Inn transaction code OPPR ----Consumption adjustment.----Adjustment period PIRS.
Period of adjustment for planned independent requirements
Use
The period of adjustment is used to define a period in which planned
independent requirements are not included in the net requirements
calculation. The period of adjustment is calculated in workdays.
If you have set one of the indicators for adjustment and maintained a
period of adjustment, the planning run does not create any new order
proposals for planned independent requirements in the period of
adjustment. This means that only customer requirements are relevant for
the planning run in this period.
