Web Intelligence hangs when moving graphs on page?

XI3.1 sp2

This is so painful!

I have a document with 17 objects ( 8 measures and 9 dims). I have a table and three grpahs... I go to move a graph and sessions hangs, and hangs, and hangs...???

there is almost a 6-8 second delay in anything in the session... numerous users have complained about this behaviour, and now I am now experiencing it.

I have cleaned out cache,.. very frustrating!

Have you tried making the formatting changes with the report in "Structure mode"? This is the best mode when formatting

  Moving the blocks/charts with more data in report hangs. So purge the data and do the formatting.
  Or use structure mode instead of data mode for formatting.
  May be other reasons for hanging not sure

    Another idea would be to go to a higher patch level, please note that XI3.1 SP2 is more than four years old and we are now on SP5...

      Currently, we are in the processs of upgrading to SP5, can you offer any type of "heads up" as to SP5.
      
      Basics appear to be better java memory management.

        SP5 appears to be quite reliable and stable.
        
        For what concerns your problem, please check that you are using a supported Java client, as far as I remember that SP level came with JRE 1.5 and if the client has upgraded to 1.6 it is normal to see such type of things.
