They are free trials of HANA, but not as downloadable software. They are all hosted in the cloud. The latest version is a free click,through agreement where you only have to pay for the hosting in the Amazon Cloud.
A downloadable version wouldn't be that feasible anyway given the large memory hardware requirement. Y

If you want to learn HANA development, then the best way is to request access to the cloudshare SAP sandbox environment using the below link.

Do not worry about learning to install and setup, thats a different ball-game.
It takes upto 4 weeks to get the access email from SAP depending on no.of request in SAP's queue. I have heard for few people the email from SAP HANA sandbox team comes in few days in some cases even after 3 to 4 weeks.
