This is regarding the issue I am currently facing in Succession Planning.
My requirement is that, the Org Structure in SP under 'My Work Area', 'Employees' & 'Positions' should appear as per the User.
Now, when i refer to the Admin Guide, it says :
Select a Default OrgChart Root from the drop-down list.
This setting determines the root node displayed at the top of the structure:
[I] Now my First Issue is :
when I login in Admin Console --> General Settings --> & click on Orgchart root value source
1) It shows me only 3 values i.e.Org Chart Root, Static & User Record. The rest of the values i.e. User's Manager & Other is missing --> Is that an Application Issue??
2) Secondly when I choose User Record, it enables 'User record field' field, but there are no drop down values --> Now is this how it is in SP or is it an application issue.Because as read in Admin Console : "User sets the user who logs in as the starting node"
[II] IF I am using the 1st option Under General Settings of 'Employees' & 'Positions', the Org Structure is displayed in the following manner (which I believe is correct) :
i) My Work Area --> Displays the Structure as per 741 (so this is fine)
ii) Org Structure under Employees & Positions --> Shows the Structure from the Root Org Unit (as mentioned in the Org chart root value)
Now, IF I want to view the Org Structure as per the User, how do I do this in Admin Console. ?? Secondly I have multiple TMS Id's in my system, Do I have to maintain all the ID's in the settings?? If yes, how do I do it in Admin Console.??
Request all of you to kindly help me!!!!!
For the My Work Area you shouldn't add a root OrgUnit because authorizations are controlled by SAP and the 741 relationship (Area of Responsibility). You don't need to map any Ids in the AdminConsole, all authorizations are configured in the backend (the TMS role is needed for other Talent Management activities and SuccessionPlanning just leverages this).
For the dynamic root in the Organization Structure you should check out the equivalent configuration in OrgChart. SuccessionPlanning doesn't contain role mapping configuration, so you need to copy some authentication configuration from OrgChart.
Thank you for the reply. But I could not get the last line :"SuccessionPlanning doesn't contain role mapping configuration, so you need to copy some authentication configuration from OrgChart."
Where & How do I have to copy the Authentication Configuration From Org Chart.
In fact I am also facing an issue if I don't maintain the root org unit under the general settings of 'Employees' & "positions' - If i keep it blank the Org Structure under Employees & Positions section says "Root Org Unit Missing..."
Can you please elaborate a bit, as to how & what should be done, in Succession Planning & Org Chart Admin Console, to overcome this issue.
You cannot meet this requirement through the AdminConsole. You must use a root orgunit ID or perform customization using some OrgChart configuration files.
Are you familiar with the file structure of OrgChart? If not this can prove difficult. Part of the authentication configuration needs to be copied (role mapping, employee fetcher and user population configuration) plus the data elements used by these components. If you look in the OrgChart SAP_Live_2 configuration build then you will see an Authentication folder and in some of these are the required files (SAP Logon forms or SSO). You don't need all of the files, just those mentioned above. You need to check these to find the data elements you need.
