If you are using ESS WDA Package then you have to use LaunchPad Customization and not HomePage Framework.You can refer Launch Pad Customization in SAP ESS:Step by Step

My requerimient in this moment is create a new Area and add a transaction and an application WD ABAP.
I follow the steps of this document:
However the link with the transaction and the other link with the application Customer not appear.
I also assigned a my user SAP_ALL but this new area not appear.
I have that do other steps for that this new area appear with the two links?

The article you are following is good.Are you using the standard role/instance ESS/Menu? If you have made a Z copy of the same then you have to assign the same in the application configuration.

From the screenshots it seems you are using NWBC and not Portal.For NWBC launch pad customization is not needed and you have to add applications in PFCG Role.

Its not that tough to customize a PFCG Role menu.Just make a Z copy of the Role you want to use ,open the menu tab and try making changes in it should be simple enough.Ypu can start with.

you can use the java application too, if you are using the portal, so you can have both WD JAVA and ABAP and reuse the same old confirgiration in the new envioronment

Hi Carmen,
1. With the WDA version of ESS, you still need to do IMG configuration as with the older version. You can use the international version of the WD application, if your country is not in the list.
2. Use launchpad instead of Homepage framework. Here is the connection: your overview iview links to the WD component (and the configuration) and somewhere in the component (look for it at the top level UI), there is a link to the launchpad. Add the area in the WD component and add the actual link to the launch pad.
3. You can run both WDA version and the java version. Just make sure you have your basis guy set up all the jco and rfc connections for the java version. And for the WDA, turn the BF on. Make sure all business packages (like ehp1.4 for jave for example) and matching XSS compoents and HR extension sets are installed. Hope it helps.

I should do some activity with this role for that appear the area?

What i said was you can contniue using your old java applications with java role for country specific services instead of WD ABAP as it will be same customisation
Now then if you want to use WD ABAP based screens. you need to develop accordingly then
You have to create international configuration for
each infotype. And then you can replace it with country specific
configuration in AppCC.
We have used this approach so that customer have to create a single
Component configuration for Application HRESS_A_PERSINFO. Within
this configuration you can create generic configuration for overview
& detail screen.
You have to define AppCC configuratio to show specific fields based on
country or subtype.
BAdi HRESS_COUNTRY_FILTER determines that pernr belongs to which
country and based on it Personal Profile menu is displayed to him.
for example
created a copy of the component configuration for the HRESS_C_PERSINFO_CONFIG component
The ZZ_CPY_HRESS_CC_PERS_CONFIG component configuration of the HRESS_C_PERSINFO_CONFIG component should be used to show different detail and overview screens for Panama and US employees
