Hello,
The SoNiC connector is supported in 702 sp 2 and 720 sp 2 versions and higher. Please see note number: 945484. This means when you install the UWL in these versions, the SoNiC connector is already there and you need to just set up the connector to the backend system.
This would be the most familiar way to me to do what you are trying to do.
