Hi,
In our system we are transporting goods to the different plants using STO with outbound and inbound deliveries. We want to use the STO with return indicator to send goods back to a plant. In this case we want to use outbound and inbound deliveries as well. The creation of outbound deliveries is no problem, but creating inbound deliveries is not possible as the confirmation control is blanked out and not editable anymore. How to generate inbound delivery?
Kind Regards,

hi
return process for STO ,
it as same also for the normal STO, but here you enter the new PO, her line item level activate the RETURN field, then you create the PO, after create the VL10B at delivery , but here create the delivery it out bound delivery, but here POST GOODS Receipt it comes ,
normal STO this comes PGI , when you take the return PGR its comes , then create the delivery , create memo release depending on process,
separate inbound delivery not create , return means out bound delivery as a goods receipt only
movement type also will change for delivery, 101 to 161 change the movement type at delivery level
please check this
In Return STO scenario inbound delivery is not required. Here when you receipt the goods system will remove the goods from stock through mvt type 161.Later with outbound delivery you can post the stock to supplying plant.
As Sridhar pointed out STO scenario inbound delivery not required. Check below link for better understanding.

Ok, thanks for the replies till so far :-) I understand it is possible to have a movement in my outbound delivery which transfers the stock from one plant to the other.
However in our system landscape we are using an external WMS system which needs an inbound delivery to perform a goods receipt. Therefore again the question is it possible to create an inbound delivery on a return STO?
The process we are looking for would be as following :
- Creation of return STO by receiving plant for supplying plant
- Creation of Outbound delivery in receiving plant.
- PGI in receiving plant to stock in transit.
- Creation of inbound delivery in supplying plant
- PGR in supplying plant from stock in transit.
As already explained by Bojja, in this process, after posting GI, a return delivery (outbound delivery) can be used to post the GR.

Materials Management > Purchasing > Purchase Order > Returns Order > Store Return / Return Plant to Plant
Here set delivery type "NLR" for the issuing plant which will issue the return goods
(
remark:
physical issuing plant --> receiving plant on the screen/order
physical receiving plant --> supplying plant on the screen/order
due to the return flag the original role of the plants changes
).
(intra-company)
1)
MIGO-A01-R05 + mvt 101 (GR for outbound delivery)
--> mvt 161 (GI removes stock from issuing plant to stock in transit)
2)
VL02N+PGR
--> mvt 671 (GR; movement from stock in transit to receiving plant)
This means that you can use the outbound delivery (return delivery) in the interface instead of inbound delivery object.
The functional reason why confirmation (and thus inbound delivery) is not applicable to this kind of order item may be that this kind of "order" is just a technical solution to send back goods to vendors (not a real purchase order).
