Consignment Sales with Separate storage location

yes you can maintain separate storage location to issue for consignment fill up. but it does not make any difference right, because instead of keeping stocks in common storage location you are going to maintain in separate location.

You can consider having a new storage location which should be far from the current unrestricted storage location.  Why I am indicating like that is system will only show the stock details storage location wise.  It is only a physical activity and it cannot prevent if the customer picks from wrong storage location.   Hope you understand the logic in this.

You can go for separate storage location to keep the consignment stock. As Lakshmipathi pointed out it is more of business users discipline that involves picking/not picking the goods from consignment stock. When the business demands such a scenario, then they must take responsibility of training the plant/warehouse users on identifying the physical consignment/non-consignment stocks. From system point of view, when consignment issue delivery is created, then text can be added in the print documents to pick only from consignment stock and vice-versa.

Otherwise, if materials are batch managed, then wrong picking can be controlled a bit easily by having additional character in the batch name for consignment stock. For example at the end of the batch, a letter C can be added to represent consignment batch. In the storage area, the product labels can carry this extra C and by this way users can understand it is a consignment stock.

With coding the picking location / storage location can be restricted in the sales order (VBAP-LGORT).

E.g.

For sales orders with Customer C1, the value in LGORT should be populated as A001, for Plant 1000.

Is this is the case, then why is this the consignment process?

Please explain the consignment process, with example.
