We have the following business cycle:
1- Maintenance engineers request spare parts from inventory stocks
2- based on employee request , Inventory stock keeper transfer quantity from his stock to maintenance engineer stock (As consignment stock)
3- When maintenance engineer issue material during equipment maintenance , he open maintenance order and issue this material from his stock to this order.
kindly, how can we implement this cycle. where we need:
1- special stock for each maintenance engineer to trace his stock. and the consignment stock should be considered as part of company valuated stock.
2- transportation request from inventory stock to maintenance engineers stocks
3- the ability to issue from engineers stocks to maintenance orders.
Tej's solution is probably the easiest an quickest that can be done. There is nothing like consignment to employees. And even you consider such things like consignment stock or subcontractor stock, you double the movements as they have to be reversed before it can be issued to the order.
May I ask the question where this stock really is?
the usual way inventory management is set up, is to know at any time where the stock physically is.
if the stock is at Mr.Smith, and Mr. Smith is ill, where is this stock? if Mr Smith has a physical space where he store this stock, why not setup this place as a storage location?
Thanks Mr. Jurgen for your reply
These stocks are under maintenance engineers responsibility. they take quantities from warehouse and put them may be in thair office or bags. when they issue these spare parts to specific equipment. they issue it from thair stocks.
What we need only is to trace these spareparts to know who get these quantities from warehouse and where they consume it?. because If we make common storage location we will not know this informations.
Create Vendor code for each employee (may be employee as vendor) Then create a movement type (say 941) copying standard 541.
Then using MB1B/MIGO post the 941 as stock transfer to employee as vendor. This will result in stock valuation in company only while in MMBE it can be seen under vendor code (employee).
Then for consumption copy 543 and create (say 943) and assign MB1A transaction in OMJJ. Not sure will it work but you may try so that 943 can be posted manually.
it will not work, as 543 is a consumption to a subcontract order .
if he wants to consume the material is has to reverse the 541 by 542 and then do his normal consumption movement e.g. 261
it doubles the movements and efforts for the engineer, which is not necessary with extra storage location
