Inside OB52, the last column on the right is titled AuGr. Expanded, that stands for Authorization Group. Hit <F1> after keeping the cursor in that field and read what SAP has to say about that field.
That is the answer to what you need - a posting period can be made available to only a limited set of users using the Authorization Group. You'll need to enlist the help of your resident BASIS team members for putting this into use.

Many thanks for your answer. but this is not the solution to my problem.
The Auth. Grp in OB52 is used for providing access to specific user to post in some periods.
However my requirement is to Restrict the process of opening and closing period according to posting period variant.
Any thoughts??

Check whether authorization for the T>Code OB52 can be based on the Posting Period variant. Check the authorization object for the T.Code ob52. Discuss with the basis people. They myt give u a solution.
