Our BI team wants to establish DB Connect with MSSQL Server 2005 Database. [They need to extract the data from MsSQL server 2005 to generate the BI report]
Application server and DB are running in difference machines and in different environment
BW Application server : AS 400 and MS SQL server 2005 : Windows 2003 Server
Please help me to achieve this .

you can configure DBCON to use dbmssslib.dll to connect.
search Google or SDN with keywords RSA1 DBCON.
start with http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/58/54f9c1562d104c9465dabd816f3f24/content.htm

Hi, in your configuration you can't use the DBCON , for this you need at least one WINDOWS application server for this ....
You can try to use the UD connect for JDBC. Regards.
If i am using UD connect to J2EE server for JDBC acces, then how to replicate the SQL table structure in BW System.
Can u explain the steps to connect BW to MSSQL through UD Connect.

a possibility is to install an application server on Windows and connect it to your central instance residing on As/400... and force DBCON to run on the Windows application server
Eric,
As of now we cannot install an AS on windows .. This is big head ache for us to create a system.
Cannot we do this directly from As 400 Machine . [AS installed in AS 400 ].. what do u think abt UD connection
I can't say.
I have never used UD connect.
anyone help me yaar
