Update on the Area Mail Processing consolidation
The United States Postal Service announced on February 23, 2012 that the plant consolidation study has been completed.

On this page click on the facilities list. You will see the state, city, and the facility that was being studied. To the right you will see the status if it has been approved for consolidation and to what level, originating and or destinating mail or all activates. Some plants on the study were marked as disapproved; hence, no consolidation is taking place.
On this sheet I have found that they examined 264 facilities. I have found that 35 say “disapproved Study”, while the rest say approved for some type of Originating and destination consolidation. The gaining site was also listed in conjunction with its city and facility or multiple facilities.
