At ASUG, the American SAP User Group Conference from May 5 to7, we demonstrated the integration of SAP Central Process Scheduling with Closing Cockpit in the Usability Lab.  This enables you to run financial closing processes in remote systems.  A high interest in the Usability Tests prove the importance of the new integration concept.  All of the 12 offered sessions were booked, some of them double.  People with special interest in this new functionality and the appropriate skills signed up and ran our testing scenario.  Managers of Finance, FI super users as well as people with accounting responsibilities all rated this solution as a “crossing the rubicon,” some stating that this will release them from doing their closing processes via Excel and e-mail.

We could also allay the fear of some participants who thought they had to upgrade their main 4.6C system to use these new features – they can install a new SAP ERP system with SAP Central Process Scheduling and simply connect the systems where the closing tasks have to run.  No major bugs came up during the tests, but we got a lot of valuable feedback and good suggestions, which we now will consider in further development.  And we made the new business scenario integration of Closing Cockpit and SAP Central Process Scheduling somewhat more known by the people who are really concerned with the closing processes and its complexity.  So overall, this Usability Testing was a success and we are looking forward to presenting the next steps next year.  See you there.
